If your child is new to the classroom, we hope you've already had the opportunity to meet with his/her teacher. If you haven't done so - it's not too late! Your teacher will be happy to share with you the classroom routine, expectations, and plans for the year. She will also appreciate any helpful information you can provide to her about your child.

While this "beginning of school year" meeting is important, it is equally important to keep the parent/teacher line of communication open throughout the entire year.

Formal conference times are scheduled three times during the year; we hope you will make every effort to attend. However, please don't hesitate to talk to your child's teacher at any time if you have questions or concerns about your child's progress or classroom routine.

We have phones in the classroom if you wish to contact your child's teacher during the school day. If it's not convenient to talk to the teacher in person, we have "Notes to Teacher" forms available in the mailbox area which you may utilize. Other forms, including Medication Permit forms, Change of Schedule forms, etc. are also available at the mailbox area

I'd also like to briefly mention some important volunteers with whom you'll eventually become acquainted:

• Room Parents are in important link between school and home. When your child's room parent calls with a request for help, please give him/her your utmost consideration. Your child's classroom will benefit greatly from your efforts.
  
  
• Book Parents are responsible for coordinating the book clubs in your child's classroom. The book parent will periodically send home flyers/order forms for your review. The book clubs have high quality books, software, and other materials at a reasonable cost. In addition, the classroom receives free items through these book clubs.
